Manage Libraries
Manage Libraries

As the frequency of our tapeouts is increasing, it is becoming more important for us to reuse blocks from previous designs. Therefore I am looking for an effective way to hierarchically copy schematics. Our designs have blocks from project individual libraries mixed with generic libraries. We do not want to copy generic libraries but only the project individual libraries. In the copied cell project individual references should point to the new libraries, generic libraries remain unchanged.

There are two methods to add the project libraries to new design:
1. Click on the “Add” option in the Library Navigator and define the path of the previous design library in the Add Library dialog box and click OK.
2. Or you can edit the “libraries.list” file located in the design directory. Open the “libraries.list” file with any text editor and define the path of the previous design library in this file. Save and close this file and reopen your design in S-Edit.
After adding the previous design libraries, these libraries should be listed in your Library Navigator. Now, you can use the cells in these libraries and instance them in the new design.
