Using boolean operator on arrays
Using boolean operator on arrays
by exc8020 » Mon Apr 09, 2012 4:13 pm
Hello,
I am new to LEdit and I was wondering if I can use the Boolean operator on an array which I have created using an instance. Below image shows an example of the structure and I want to obtain the negative of these pads in my design. When I try to to use boolean difference operator, using another rectangle drawn in some other layer, it doesn't get the array as an object and do not perform the difference operation for example.
Thanks for any help and ideas

Using Boolean operation on polygons or on the complete cell will result in objects in flat manner. I recommend that you perform the NOT operation in the parent cell of the instance you arrayed. Since, the cell is arrayed any object inside the cell is part of the array.
